The Connection between Social Support and Resilience of People with Disabilities with Life Satisfaction and Hope for the Future

Abstract


The presented research explored the relationship of social
support, the resilience of people with disabilities and the
satisfaction with life and hope for the future. The aim of the
research was to explore the possibility of predicting the
quality of life and hope for the future among people with
disabilities on the grounds of sociodemographic data as well
as measurements of resilience and social support on 230
participants. The research was conducted via online survey
form, consisting of a questionnaire exploring demographic
characteristics, Brief scale of resilience, Scale of satisfaction
with life, Scale of hope for the future and Scale of social
support. The findings of this research imply several possible
defence factors for satisfaction with life and hope for the
future of people with disabilities and the role of all of us is to
encourage and improve social support for people with
disabilities.
